At Upper Canada Office Systems we understand the value and responsibility in contributing to the community in which we all work and live. Our employees can often be found volunteering for local charities with the full support of the company through allowance of company time, use of company resources such as printing, and monetary donations. Many of our employees serve on boards of local charities or as active, engaged members. Allocation of donations to charities is in support of employee interests and decided through employee involvement. Charities and initiatives we support include: Almost Home, Kingston Interval House, Big Brothers, Independent Living Centre Kingston, Kingston Humane Society, Food Sharing Project and Breast Cancer Action Kingston. We also play a large role in several charitable community events including the annual Chamber of Commerce Ladies Day on the Green, Belleville Waterfront Festival and Grand Slam Curling.
We are particularly proud of our initiative to re-purpose excess furniture for not-for-profit organizations. We keep a database of requests from charities in need of donations and when we find products that match those needs, we deliver and install the product free of charge. We encourage our customers to find a charity in need of their old furniture and help facilitate the delivery.
